Church Re-opening Plan
June 19, 2020
St Mary parish is continuing to move forward with reopening efforts in accordance with the plan announced by Cardinal Cupich and the bishops of Illinois, as well as the Restore Illinois plan announced by the governor. We are happy to announce that we are approved to resume public Masses and will begin Sunday, June 28th at 10:00am ONLY. We will use an online tool to allow you to reserve space at Mass for both you and those in your household.
The sign up will be available starting at 9 AM the Wednesday before Mass:
- Go to stmaryriverside.org
- Click Church Reopen
- Click Reserve a Seat for Mass. You may sign up for multiple spots for those in the same household. Please provide all attendees names in Comments
- If your plans change, please log back in to remove your reservation
If you are unable to make a reservation online, please call the Parish Office at 708-447-1020 and we will complete the sign up for you. If you have any questions or concerns about our reopening, please contact us at email@example.com or call the Parish Office.
The obligation to attend Sunday Mass is still suspended at this time. If you are not yet ready to worship in person with us, please join us online at www.stmaryriverside.org. Beginning Sunday, June 28th we will be livestreaming Mass so you can watch us in real time!
Because of the livestream capabilities, we will be offering Holy Communion from the conclusion of Mass to 11:30 am on Sunday mornings via drive-up at the Pastoral Center in downtown Riverside located at 40 E Burlington. Please use the entrance on the east side of the building (next to Riverside Foods). Recipients must wear a mask and remain in their vehicles.
The Reopening Leadership Team still needs additional volunteers for one-hour or two-hour shifts nearly every day of the week. Please prayerfully consider giving your time. Visit our website www.stmaryriverside.org click on Church Reopen then Volunteer Sign Up.
Thank you for your generosity and thoughtfulness during these past several months; your contributions, notes, phone calls and prayers have kept me motivated and my spirits lifted! As we slowly continue to move forward, I pray that God grant you His peace, love and hope.
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Rev. Thomas P. May
