A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM FATHER TOM
On Sunday, January 26, we kick off Catholic Schools Week 2020 - "Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed." Please stop over to see and experience the great things happening in our school and visit with the teachers and our new principal, Mrs. Nicole Nolazco.
St. Mary School has a full agenda of activities during Open House beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the school. The day will conclude at the 11:30 a.m. Mass in the Parish Center. Please feel free to join our students, faculty, staff and school families.
There will be no 11:30 a.m. Mass in the Church on Sunday, January 26th.
Be aware that the parking lot will be " full" and parking will be an issue. (Remember, we do have a 5:00 p.m. Mass on both Saturday and Sunday).
I ask that you keep St. Mary School and all Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese in your prayers. It was recently announced that five more schools in the Archdiocese will be closing in June. As we know from the past, this is a very difficult time for these faith communities as they say good-bye to an important part of their parish's mission and tradition.
Let us be thankful that for over ninety years we have been truly blessed with a vibrant school community. Our Parish is continually re-energized by the people that become involved at St. Mary through this special mission.
ORDINATION BANN ANNOUNCEMENT
Peter Brown, a parishioner of St. Mary Parish, is scheduled to be ordained to the Order of Deacon on May, 9, 2020 at Holy Name Cathedral by Cardinal Blase J. Cupich, Archbishop of Chicago.
This is a public announcement of the upcoming ordination and fulfills the canonical requirement. Catholics are obliged to reveal concerns, impediments or circumstances that could prevent Peter Brown from receiving Sacred Orders and should contact the Pastor or the Cardinal with such information as soon as possible if there is a serious question about the candidate's suitability for ordained ministry.
